Thursday’s Devotional

Job 37:14 kjv
Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

Inspiration
Sometime we are faced with so many things happening around we don’t know how to just stand still, relax and enjoy the moment we are in. God did not put us on this earth to be constantly running to and fro; but He wants us to have time to enjoy His presence, the beauty around us and the love of family. I know for myself I can get so wrapped up in all the responsibilities I have each day that it seems I almost forget to breathe. Living this way is not health for our physical bodies, our emotions, or our spiritual life. We can’t take care of others or our responsibilities if we are empty. We need time to relax and spend time with God, family, and just with ourselves. God’s wondrous works are here for us to enjoy. I encourage you to take some time each day for yourself; spend time with God in prayer, meditation of His Word and just learning to breathe again.

Prayer
Father, help me to stop running to and fro so much; always in a rush, never taking time to stop and enjoy Your presence. I know I need You and my quiet times with You to function in this world. Take me to a quiet place and fill me up Lord so I can have what I need to carry Your gospel, be there for others, and fulfill my responsibilities. In Jesus Name. Amen
